TEL AVIV: THE FIRST HEBREW CITY AND A CENTER OF INNOVATION SINCE 1909
  • Private breakfast in the Mediterranean Lounge at the hotel, overlooking the sea.
  • An Introduction to Israel, with the Tour Educator, Avi.
  • What Makes Israel Tick @ 2022, with Journalist Matti Friedman, contributor to the Atlantic, New York times and other leading media outlets.
  • Innovation Then and Now, drive to Rothschild Blvd. for a guided walk through the original neighborhood of Tel Aviv, Ahuzat Bayit, which has now become one of Israel’s leading global innovation hubs, and glimpse at part of the White City, the UNESCO World Heritage collection of Bauhaus buildings.
  • Stop at the Levinsky Balkan Market, established by new immigrants from Balkan countries, who brought their bourekas, pickles, drinks, stuffed vegetables, spices, marzipan and much more, with some shopping time.
  • Continue to Techiniya Restaurant, for a fast lunch.
  • Visit the original Tel Aviv City Hall , which is now a contemporary and historical urban art museum, for a retrospective on Tel Aviv and a view toward the future.
  • Continue to the Peres Center for Innovation and Peace in Jaffa, including a mini symposium with chair of the board, Chemi Peres and selected entrepreneurs.
  • Dinner at Karandagi House, with Israeli business leaders.

Day 3
Tuesday, March 29, 2022
THE WESTERN NEGEV: PHYSICAL AND SPIRITUAL SECURITY
  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Israelis and Palestinians – Between the West Bank, Jerusalem and Gaza, with Col. (Res.) Grisha Yaakubovitch, former senior officer in COGAT (Office of the Coordinator of Government Affairs in the Territories) at the hotel.
  • Drive to the Western Negev and stop at the Assaf Siboni Overlook into Gaza for a short briefing on the current situation between Israel and the Gaza Strip, with an IDF spokesperson.
  • Continue to Kibbutz Ein Hashlosha for a  guided visit along the Gaza Fence, followed by a tour of the kibbutz and a  conversation security official and youth worker Tal Shamir, about both security needs and resilience efforts in his community.
  • Drive along the Gaza border to the southwestern tip and the junction of the Egyptian, Israeli and Gaza borders, to Kerem Shalom.
  • Lunch en route.
  • Visit the Kerem Shalom Goods Crossing into Gaza, which has become one of the most significant and sensitive locations in the Gaza–Israel reality, including a guided visit through the complex and conversations with crossing staff (and a possible meeting with a Gaza resident who works at the crossing).
  • Upon exiting the Crossing, continue to the junction of the Egyptian, Gaza and Israeli Borders for an up-to-date briefing on the strategic realities between Israel, Egypt and Gaza.
  • Return to Tel Aviv.
  • Dinner at Malka Restaurant, hosted by chef Eyal Shani (if in residence)

EXPLORING PALESTINIAN REALITIES
  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Drive to Sde Dov Airport.
  • Israel: A Bird’s Eye View, board helicopters and fly to the Golan Heights along Israel’s coast and continuing over the Lower Galilee to the Kiryat Shmona Landing Pad on the Lebanese border.
  • Ascend to Metula and Mount Zefia for a look into Lebanon and a briefing by Col. (Res) Sarit Zehavi on the new realities in the area after Israel’s recent tunnel clearing operation, including a view of some of the Hizbullah Tunnels.
  • Continue with Lt. Col. (Res.) Zehavi for a guided drive along the Lebanese Border, exploring some of the strategic and security realities facing Israel along its northern border, concluding with an up-to-date intelligence briefing at the Alma Center.
  • Drive to the Galilee Mountain Winery for a special tasting and lunch.
  • Re-board the helicopters and fly toward the Sea of Galilee.
  • Visit the Christian sites on the shores of the Sea of Galilee: Capernaum, where Jesus taught, Tabgha, site of the Multiplication of the Loaves and Fish, and concluding at the Mount of Beatitudes, site of the Sermon on the Mount.
  • En route back to Tel Aviv, view the Seam Zone Barrier, the Samarian Mountains (northern West Bank) and the Coastal Plain from above.
  • Land at Tel Aviv airport and return to the hotel for rest and relaxation.
  • Dinner at a leading Tel Aviv restaurant or at the home of chef Yossi Elad.

  • Meet with participants in the Palestinian Internship Program, a unique project founded by Israeli Venture Capitalist Yadin Kaufman, geared to enabling outstanding Palestinian graduates in the innovation and tech sectors to learn and integrate into Israeli companies.
  • Drive to Jerusalem.
  • Stop at Mount Scopus for a Jerusalem Spiritual Moment of Arrival, overlooking the Old City of Jerusalem.
  • Special program in East Jerusalem with leading Palestinian Academics and Business personalities, including site visits and lunch.
  • Check in to the hotel.
  • Free time for rest, relaxation and personal exploration.
  • Dinner at Mamilla Hotel Rooftop Restaurant, overlooking the walls of the Old City.

  • Lunch at a Jerusalem restaurant.
  • Free afternoon for shopping, rest and exploration.
  • Welcome the Sabbath: walk through the Old City to the Western Wall and join in with Jerusalemites and guests as they welcome in the Sabbath.
  • Festive Sabbath dinner at the Wine Temple, in Jerusalem’s German Colony.

A JERUSALEM SABBATH
  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Departure to the Old City.
  • Visit the Christian Quarter, including the rooftop of the Austrian Hospice and the last stops of the Via Dolorosa, concluding at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, followed by a visit to the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate.
  • Lunch in the Old City at Boulghorgi Restaurant.
  • Drive to Bethlehem for a visit to the Church of the Nativity and an opportunity to visit Shephard’s Field.
  • Return to Jerusalem.
  • Optional evening Mass at the Notre Dame Cathedral.
  • Havdallah, a ceremony of separation between the Sabbath and the rest of the week, on the hotel’s rooftop.
  • Depart to Machane Yehudah Market.
  • Dinner at Jacko’s Restaurant.

THE LAYERS OF JERUSALEM AND CONCLUSIONS

  • Return to the Old City.
  • Visit the Temple MountHaram el Sharif and the location of the Al Aqsa Mosque, with Muslim guide Ibrahim Ghazzawi, for a special meeting with representatives of the Palestinian Waqf.
  • Guided walk through the Western Wall Tunnel along the base of the Temple Mount.
  • Continue to the Kotel (Western Wall), a center of Jewish worship and longing for over 2,000 years.
  • Guided walk through the Old City of Jerusalem, beginning at Jaffa Gate and ascending to the Market Rooftops for a look at Jerusalem’s Four Quarters from above, continuing into the Jewish Quarter, with Hurva Square and the back alleyways of the Quarter.
  • Drive to Talpiot and the headquarters of the PICO Innovation Hub for a meeting with serial innovation and social entrepreneur Elie Wurtman.
  • Return to the hotel for time for rest, relaxation and shopping.
  • Check out of the hotel.
  • Festive farewell dinner at the Tur Sinai Farm on the outskirts of Jerusalem, with music by the Solomon Brothers and a concluding conversation.
